Former Chief Justice David Maraga has issued a bold ultimatum, demanding the immediate arrest of Inspector General Douglas Kanja, Deputy IG Eliud Lagat, and DCI boss Mohammed Amin over the mysterious death of blogger Albert Ojwang.
Speaking during a press briefing on Monday, June 16, Maraga called for the trio to be apprehended by June 25, warning that failure to act would force him to join other concerned citizens in launching a private prosecution.
He accused the top security officials of providing false affidavits regarding Ojwang’s abduction and murder; statements he says directly contradict earlier police reports.
“Justice must prevail. If the institutions won’t act, then the people must,” Maraga declared.
