The battle for control within the Jubilee Party has finally come to an end, and former President Uhuru Kenyatta is back on top.
The Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, has officially gazetted Uhuru as the bona fide party leader, putting to rest a drawn-out leadership wrangle that has rocked the once-dominant political outfit.
This decisive move follows a consent filed at the High Court, signalling a united front within the party ranks and clearing the legal path for the leadership realignment.
Also shown the door are nominated MP Sabina Chege and EALA MP Kanini Kega, who had temporarily staked their claim to the party’s helm. Their ouster seals Uhuru’s grip on the party’s leadership structure.
In the same breath, long-time ally Jeremiah Kioni retains his powerful position as Secretary General, affirming the return of the original Jubilee inner circle.
This latest development marks a significant turning point in Jubilee’s turbulent journey, reigniting speculation about the former president’s next political move.
