FAKE RUTO FACES 10 YEARS BEHIND BARS FOR IMPERSONATING THE PRESIDENT ONLINE

In a plot twist straight out of a political thriller with a splash of comedy, a Kenyan man is staring down the barrel of a 10-year prison sentence after pulling off one of the boldest online impersonations of Fake Ruto in recent memory. His crime? Pretending to be none other than President William Ruto himself… on social media!

The man, whose real name is being kept under wraps (perhaps to spare his relatives the secondhand embarrassment), operated under the bizarre alias “I Must Go.” Whether it was a cry for help, a coded message, or just a poorly thought-out username remains a mystery. What’s certain, however, is that his online antics have landed him in very real hot soup.

According to authorities, the fake Ruto didn’t just slap on a presidential profile picture and call it a day. He allegedly used the bogus account to issue statements, engage followers, and attempt to solicit funds under the guise of the Head of State. The audacity!

But while his digital disguise might have fooled a few unsuspecting netizens, it didn’t take long for law enforcement to unmask the man behind the presidential pretence. Cybercrime units swung into action, and before he could say “bottom-up economic model,” the fake Ruto had been smoked out.

Now facing charges under Kenya’s cybercrime laws, the man could spend up to a decade in prison, proving once again that the internet may be free, but impersonating the President most certainly is not.

Lesson of the day? You can be anyone online… just don’t be the President. Especially not this president.
