DCI recommends withdrawal of the Ksh 1.1 billion case against Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago alongside his co-defendants Meshack Rono and Joshua Lelei, paving the way for the EACC to assume responsibility for the matter, as ongoing investigations reveal that key details, such as the number of students admitted to Finnish and Canadian universities and the exact fees paid, remain unclear.

The decision comes after a DCI report indicated that essential evidence, including visa processing details and the involvement of intermediaries linking the county government to foreign institutions, was still incomplete, prompting a reevaluation of the charges.
EACC will include additional suspects, such as other county officials from the education department, gender and youth affairs, as well as companies implicated in the alleged scandal.
