NAIROBI, Kenya – Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest smartphone lineup, the Redmi Note 15 Series, introducing significant upgrades to structural integrity, battery technology, and artificial intelligence.

The new series consists of three models: the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G, the REDMI Note 15 Pro, and the standard REDMI Note 15. This year’s release centres on “REDMI Titan Durability”, a manufacturing standard designed to improve drop resistance and environmental protection across the entire range.

Engineered for Longevity

The flagship Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G introduces a 6,500 mAh Silicon-Carbon (SiC) battery. This technology allows for higher energy density in a slimmer chassis compared to traditional lithium-ion packs.

Combined with the Xiaomi Surge battery management system, the Pro models are rated to maintain at least 80% health after 1,600 charge cycles—approximately six years of standard use. The devices support up to 100W HyperCharge and feature reverse wired charging to power other gadgets.

Advanced Structural Resilience

To address common hardware failures, Xiaomi has reinforced the series with the REDMI Titan Structure. Key durability highlights include:

  • Drop Resistance: Certified by SGS for falls up to 2.5 metres on granite.

  • Protection: High-strength motherboards and multi-layer shock absorption.

  • Environmental Sealing: The Pro+ 5G variant meets IP66, IP68, and IP69K standards, allowing for submersion in two metres of water for up to 24 hours.

  • Display: Protection via Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2 and “Wet Touch 2.0” technology for use with wet hands.

AI-Powered 200MP Imaging

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G features a 200MP main camera utilising the new 1/1.4-inch HPE sensor. This system offers 2x and 4x optical-level in-sensor zoom and triple-focal-length HDR.

The standard Redmi Note 15 is equipped with a 108MP camera. Across the series, Xiaomi has integrated Google Gemini and “Circle to Search”, alongside proprietary AI tools for object removal, portrait enhancement, and reflection reduction.

Performance and Connectivity

The Pro+ 5G is powered by the Snapdragon® 7s Gen 4 platform and introduces the “IceLoop” cooling system to the REDMI line. A notable addition for the Pro models is “Xiaomi Offline Communication”, which enables kilometre-level voice transmission in areas without cellular network coverage.

Pricing and Availability in Kenya

The series is available immediately through Xiaomi partner stores, Safaricom outlets, and Jumia.
