Detectives from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) conducted a joint operation with Mombasa Central Police officers, dismantling an unlicensed overseas job recruitment agency operating illegally in Makadara, Mombasa.

The raid, conducted on actionable intelligence, targeted Al Wajib Investments Ltd, which was running its operations from a residential building. Two directors of the firm, Bilal Dundo Nyanje and Ali Abu Bakari, were arrested on the spot.

During the swoop, police recovered key exhibits, including an expired National Employment Authority (NEA) certificate, two registers, a receipt book, and the agency’s official stamp.

The suspects are being held in custody as they undergo processing ahead of their court arraignment.

The National Police Service (NPS) has cautioned Kenyans against falling prey to rogue recruiters, urging all job seekers to verify overseas recruitment agencies through the National Employment Authority (NEA).

Authorities say the crackdown on unlicensed operators is being intensified, warning that those caught flouting the law will face the full force of justice.
