Crime Alert, Fraud Alert, Nancy Njeri Kamau Alias Nelly Mbogo, Lucy Wangui Muturi Alias Judy, Ephantus Ngethe Gichuki, Joseph Karanja Macharia Alias Kareithi arraigned over Sh 19million fraud
Four men linked to multiple fraud-related cases have today been arraigned at a Kibera Court to face the charges of fraud where they are said to have defrauded a woman some Sh19 million.
The Four; Nancy Njeri Kamau Alias Nelly Mbogo, Lucy Wangui Muturi Alias Judy, Ephantus Ngethe Gichuki, and Joseph Karanja Macharia Alias Kareithi were arraigned before Kibera Chief Magistrate Ann Mwangi but they did not take plea despite the DPP approving the charges against them.
They are set to be charged on Tuesday next week after their lawyer told the court that among the four, one of the suspects was unwell and unable to attend the court.
FRAUD ALLEGATIONS.
They are said to have defrauded Jackline Wambui Njeru with a total of Sh19 million and wherein the first count they lied to her by using several tricks to steal her cash.
In the first count Nancy Njeri Kamau Alias Nelly Mbogo, Lucy Wangui Muturi Alias Joseph Karanja Macharia Alias Kareithi they will be charged with defrauding her Sh 5,600,000 by pretending that they were in a position to facilitate the removal of the seal imprinted on USD 1,800,000
The three will also be charged with obtaining Sh4.5million from the same complainant after lying to her that they were in a position to secure her an anti-terror certificate from the UN Board
They also four allegedly obtained from her Sh1.4million that they would help her get a consignment from Sudan, and obtained Sh 2 million on the ground that they would help her clear KRA tax for clearance of cargo originating from South Sudan
