The puzzle of Brian Odhiambo’s disappearance is finally heading to the courtroom, and six Kenya Wildlife Service officers are at the centre of the storm.
Brian, a 33-year-old fisherman from Nakuru, vanished without a trace on January 18, 2025. Now, after months of growing pressure and investigation, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has found compelling grounds to link his abduction and unlawful confinement to six KWS officers.
Those set to face justice are Senior Sergeant Francis Wachira Gachoki, Abdulrahman Ali Sudi, Isaac Ochieng, Evans Kimaiyo, Michael Wabukala, and Alex Lorogoi. The six were arrested on Friday in a dramatic twist to the case that has haunted the Odhiambo family for months. They’ve since been released on free bond, but their date with the court is set for Monday.
According to preliminary investigations, the officers were in contact with Brian shortly before he vanished. The charges? Abduction with intent to confine is a serious offence that could carry heavy penalties if proven.
As the courtroom doors swing open, Kenya waits to see whether justice will finally be served for Brian and what truths will come to light behind the badge.
