Jared Omondi Ochiko
This is after magistrate Gilbert Shikwe who is presiding over the case heard that the said doctor was admitted at a mental hospital. The suspect Jared Omondi Ochiko through his lawyers produced medical documents in court indicating that he is unwell.
He therefore did not appear in court. The intended charge sheet indicates that Omondi has been practicing as a medical officer while not being registered contrary to Section 22(2) of the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Act Cap 253 of the laws of Kenya.

He is accused that on September 26, 2024, at Eastlands Pathogenix Laboratory in Umoja within Nairobi County, knowingly offered consultation drug prescription, and sick off from duties without being registered by the Council.
He is also accused of using the title “DOCTOR “without registration as a medical practitioner contrary to section 22(3)of the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act Cap 253laws of Kenya.
He is said to be engaging in private practice as a clinical officer without a valid practicing certificate contrary to section 20(1) as read with Section 20(4) of the clinical officer’s Act No.20 of 2017.
He is said to have committed this offense on September 26, 2024, at Eastlands Pathogenix Laboratory in Umoja within Nairobi County, knowingly using the title “Doctor without having been registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Another count indicates that Omondi has been using a premise that is not licensed as a health institution contrary to the law. He is accused that on similar dates, he was found at Eastlands Pathology Centre, whose premises are not registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
The matter will be mentioned on November 16 to confirm the authenticity of medical documents supplied in court.
