The two were charged before Senior Resident Magistrate William Tulel, where they denied the charges.
They allegedly stole the said items from Jacqueline Githuma who had employed them as housekeepers. Two women accused of stealing assorted clothing, gold and diamond jewellery worth Sh2.1 million were charged at a Kibera court on Tuesday.

The two Gloria Khamisi Vike and Linet Kavetsa Kateyi were charged before Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate William Tulel, where they denied the charges.

The court heard that the accused persons committed the offence on diverse dates between November 1 and December 23 in the Lavingtone area in Dagoreti Sub-County within Nairobi County.

They allegedly stole the said items from Jacqueline Githuma, who had employed them as housekeepers.

They are also said to have stolen the said items while she was away, and upon coming back, she found the items missing, forcing her to report the matter to the police.

They denied the charges and pleaded for lenient bond terms. The magistrate released them on a Sh1 million bond with the surety of the same amount.

The matter will be mentioned on January 22.
