Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman for Busia County, Geoffrey Odanga, has announced that they will not attend the ODM’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
This comes after ODM Director Philip Etale revealed that the event venue had been moved to Bukiri Primary School in Funyula Constituency, Busia County. Director Philip Etale Geoffrey Odanga
The Matayos legislator emphasized that the event should be hosted at Busia Stadium, which is centrally located and easily accessible to all residents.
“The event must be held in Busia town; we won’t allow a few individuals to decide for us,” Odinga said.
Sources suggest that the Governor decided to relocate the venue to his backyard after receiving information that he might be heckled by town residents.
“We received information that residents in the town were planning to disrupt the event by heckling the Governor, which is why we felt the need to move the venue outside of town,” a source close to the Governor explained.
Efforts to reach ODM Director Philip Etale for clarification on why the venue was transferred at the last minute were unsuccessful, as his phone went unanswered.
