According to a statement released by the family of renowned Kenyan activist and photojournalist Boniface Mwangi, the human rights crusader was reportedly deported from Tanzania under unclear circumstances and later left stranded in Ukunda, Kwale County.
The family revealed that Mwangi was forcibly removed from Tanzanian territory and transported by road, only to be unceremoniously dumped at the coastal town without proper documentation or formal communication from Tanzanian authorities.

Details of his detention and deportation remain murky, but the family has urged both the Kenyan and Tanzanian governments to provide clarity on the events leading up to his removal.
The information was first shared by the family and later picked up by various media sources, sparking national concern and calls for transparency.
Mwangi, known for his bold activism and fearless voice against corruption and injustice, had reportedly been in Tanzania on personal business before the ordeal unfolded.
