Anthony Njuguna Kimani has been charged at the Milimani Law Courts with committing insurance fraud amounting to KSh 5,522,021.
Appearing before Magistrate Dolphina Alego, Kimani denied the charges, which stem from an alleged conspiracy to defraud Madison Insurance Kenya Limited by fraudulently registering the late Joseph Nganga Kariuki as a medical scheme beneficiary using falsified employment details tied to Nakuru County Assembly.

The court was informed that on diverse dates between January 1, 2017, and May 30, 2017, at Madison Insurance Kenya Limited’s head office at Upper Hill, Nairobi, jointly with others not before the court, being a caregiver at that company.
Conspired with intent to defraud the insurer of Sh 5,522,021 by wilfully presenting himself in the preparation and fraudulent registration of Joseph Nganga Kariuki (deceased) to the Nakuru County Assembly Medical Scheme as a beneficiary member by using a falsified employment number.
He is said to have purported the deceased to be a staff member at the said county, knowing it was untrue.
