Sunday morning turned sorrowful after a horrific accident occurred at Soymet Bridge Bomet, around 5:00 AM. According to reports, a lorry carrying three occupants lost control and veered off the road before plunging into a river. Sadly, two people lost their lives on the spot, while the sole survivor was rushed to Kaplong Mission Hospital, where he is currently receiving emergency treatment.
Local authorities and rescue teams responded quickly to the scene, retrieving the bodies and securing the area. Police have since launched investigations into the cause of the crash, though overspeeding and poor visibility at dawn are suspected factors.
Residents have expressed concern over frequent accidents in the area, urging the government to improve road safety measures around Soymet Bridge.
