Manhunt for Suspects in Campbell Scott Murder Case

Detectives are seeking public assistance in tracking down three individuals believed to be involved in the killing of 58-year-old British national Campbell Scott, whose body was discovered in Makongo Forest, Makueni, on 22 February 2025.

Authorities have identified the suspects as Benard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa, also known as Edu.

The trio reportedly fled following the crime, and law enforcement officers are urging anyone with information on their whereabouts to report anonymously via the toll-free number 0800 722 203 or at the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, two prime suspects, Albunus Mutinda Nzioka and Alex Mutua Kithuka, remain in custody for 21 days as detectives continue investigations.

Forensic analysis has allegedly linked the pair to Scott’s murder, leading to their arraignment in court.

Scott, a senior director at US-based data analytics firm FICO, arrived in Kenya on 16 February 2025 for a company product launch. He was staying at the JW Marriott Hotel in Westlands.

The following day, he was last seen at Havana Bar and Restaurant on Woodvale Grove in Westlands, accompanied by an unidentified man. That was the last known sighting of him alive.

His decomposing remains were later found wrapped in a bag and concealed in shrubbery in Makongo Forest, along the Machakos-Wote highway.

A herder tending to livestock made the grim discovery.

Investigators have determined that Scott was picked up by an Uber and taken to a house in Pipeline, Nairobi, belonging to one of the suspects.

Police also uncovered multiple attempts to withdraw funds from his bank accounts in Nairobi, Voi, and Mombasa before his murder and the disposal of his body.

During a court appearance before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, detectives requested additional time to hold the suspects, arguing that releasing them could interfere with investigations.

The court granted the application, with the case set for mention on 24 March 2025.
