Today, Kitale erupted free Natembeya, transformed into a sea of unwavering solidarity as passionate residents flooded the streets to protest the arrest of their beloved Governor, George Natembeya, by EACC detectives.
Chants of “Free Natembeya!” echoed through the town as placards painted with bold messages waved high, expressing the community’s frustration and fierce loyalty to their leader. Motorbikes revved, vuvuzelas blared, and the air was thick with spirited defiance.

“We will not rest until our governor is freed!” shouted one protester, draped in the county flag. Local businesses temporarily closed their doors as residents, young and old, united to demand justice and transparency.
Social media is ablaze with the trending hashtag #FreeNatembeya, as Kitale residents rally both online and offline. From spontaneous dance routines to moving speeches, the protest has turned into a vibrant yet determined demonstration.
According to the residents, they need the Governor back, as they have said is a setup from top leaders who don’t want to be truthful to the country
