Fraudster Jean Emanuel Marlon

The court has directed that international fraudster Jean Emanuel Marlon alias Larnaca J Benjamin be remanded further until March 3. This is after the Dpp opposed his release on bond on the ground that he was a flight risk and he was also in a position to temper with the available witnesses.

This comes after the accused person, Mr.Jean pleaded not guilty to all the fourteen counts including obtaining over ksh 12,000,000 before Jomo Kenyatta international law court magistrate Njeri Thuku who ordered too that Jean be taken to hospital. The magistrate ordered a pre-bail report on the said date before making her ruling.

While opposing the accused to be released on bond or cash bail, the office of the director of the public prosecutor files an affidavit indicating that the accused is a flight risk because he possessed two passports that are yet to be investigated.

The DPP also told the trial magistrate that the accused had been interfering with the complainant and the witnesses by sending them texts and photos while armed threatening to kill them. “The suspect has been threatening my key witness including the complainant, we have even photos and text that he sent to the victims,” said Mulama.

While opposing the application by the DPP to deny the accused bond or bail, a lawyer for the accused Mr Wandugi told the court that his client was resourceful and he was ready to abide by all the terms and conditions that the court would issue.

Wandugi added that there was no compelling reason why his client should be denied bond or bail since the main complainant has not filed or had an OB indicating that indeed his client threatened him.
