Paul Odol Okombo
City fraudster Paul Odol Okombo seems to be running out of options after a Nairobi magistrate warned him of serious consequences if he does not pay back the money he defrauded from a city businessman.
Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Monica Maroro told Okombo that ‘She won’t take any more lies’ if he fails to pay back the money he allegedly defrauded from the city business lady.
Before the magistrate’s warning, the prosecution had aligned the very last witness to testify in the matter, and the accused person urged the court for a very last chance for him to clear the debt.
“Please, Your Honor, give me the very last chance. I ask the court not to proceed with the last witness. I will pay back the owner’s money before the end of January,” Odol told the court.

The complainant told the court that Odol had not paid back the agreed-upon money. She told the court that the accused person had been making false promises day in and day out, hence the need to allow the very last witness to testify.
The prosecution had availed the investigative officer to testify and close the case.

Seeing the danger of being convicted, Idol pleaded with the court to forgive him and adjourn the case to allow him to pay.
In court papers, he admitted to owing the complainant money and was willing to repay the money he defrauded.
He has been warned and given the very last warning by the court.
According to the chargesheet tabled in court, the accused person, Mr. Odol Okombo Paul, defrauded a businesswoman of Sh Sh2.5 million on September 27, 2023, at Palacina Hotel in Kilimani within Nairobi County after lying to her that he was in a position to help her land a road construction tender.
He failed to deliver the tender to her even after defrauding her of the said amount on the ground that he knew to be false.
He is out on bond, and he risks being jailed if he fails to repay the said amount.
When he took the plea, he denied the charges and was released on bond.
The case will be mentioned next week to confirm if he would have made some payments and later proceed in January for further direction where he is expected to have cleared the debt.
