Mohammed Mohamud & Bashir Ali Scammed Millions from Innocent Victims

Two men, Mohammed Mohamud and Bashir Ali were yesterday charged with Sh12M fraud, and they are said to have used tricks to defraud a respected city businessman. The two appeared in court, where the court ordered that they deposit their passports in court after the prosecution’s request.

According the investigators aware of the matter, the two had planned to go into hidding in one of the African countries. ” The two had planned to run away to one of the African countries, and we request the court to allow them to deposit their passport in court,” said the detective.

The suspects namely; Mohammed Mohamud and Bashir Ali were charged before  Milimani Senio Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi where they denied the charges.

The court heard that the accused persons committed the offence  on May 10,2018 at Eastleigh in Nairobi,with intent to defraud,obtained 100,000 USD or approximatly Sh 12,800,000 from Fatuma Hassan by falsely pretending that they would facilitate the importation  of clothes from China,knowing it was untrue.

While denying them passports, magistrate Benmark Ekhubi said has considered the application by the prosecution that they are delaying the trial.

They have since denied the charges and are out on Sh 300,000 cash bail.
