Richard Zenda Kirui Bungei
Although colleagues at the Ministry of Transport describes Engineer Richard Zenda Kirui Bungei as a straight man, they never knew that when shown money alongside goodies, he could do the unthinkable
Most of them are allegedly shocked after Bungei was charged in court with forging an official letter purportedly authorized by Kipchumba Murkomen so that he could allegedly meet the demands of his “clients.”
He was charged before a Milimani Law Courts magistrate, where he denied the charges.
In court, the accused person was charged with four counts of forgery, making a document without authority, uttering a false document, and conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to the law.
The chargesheet read in court says that Richard Zenda Kirui Bungei allegedly forged an official letter referenced 2010002101/35 dated 6th May 2024 and addressed to the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, where he renewed his term.

Read the letter as documented in court, “Renewal of Local Agreement Terms”.
He allegedly made it appear as though it had been authored and signed by CS Murkomen.
The chargesheet says that the disputed letter was used to facilitate the renewal of an agreement between the ministry and a pilot. The forgery reportedly came to light during a labor court case filed by the pilot, and upon investigations, it was noted that Bungei “played like himself” and gave the transfer.
The chargesheet’s second count says that the accused person of made the document without authority.
He committed the offense on May 6, 2024.
He however pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh 150,000 .
The case will proceed next month
