Abdihakim Said Jama
Nairobi-based detective Amos Gachie Gakure has narrated to the Nairobi Court how rogue Somali National Abdihakim Said Jama forged an Identity Card to disown a businesswoman’s land.
While testifying before Milimani Resident Magistrate Rose Ndombi, Gakure revealed that the forgery matter was reported to the DCI on January 4, 2023, where the said non-Kenyan was found in possession of a forged identification document.
The court heard that the detective did further investigations and even found some further details from the Department of Registration of Persons regarding the birth certificate that the accused person had presented.
Findings confirmed that the document, bearing entry No. L00906313/13 serial number 4208657, was forged and originally belonged to Anna Gatwiri Kithure.
Further investigations disclosed that Jama had falsely presented himself as the son of Fatuma Mohamed, a resident of Burat, Isiolo County. However, when authorities located Fatuma, she denied any familial ties to Jama

“We found the supposed mother and she provided a list of her eight children. She confirmed that the accused’s name was unfamiliar and disowned any relation to him,” Gakure told the court.
When Fatuma took the stand, she recalled how government officers visited her home in June 2023 and showed her photos of Jama, inquiring if she knew him.
“Upon seeing the photos, I did not recognize him. He is not my son,” she testified, leaving the court in shock as she confirmed that she had never met Jama before the court proceedings.
Many more witnesses testified in court and narrated how the accused person forged the said ID and committed the said illegality.
According to Abdi Aliow Issak, a businessman and member of the vetting committee for Ngare Mara Location, the accused Petson was never vetted and he alledgly used tricks and corruption to obtain his ID. Jama’s claims that he was vetted and approved for an ID card in 2011.
In court, the accused person is charged with providing false information to a public officer between March and June 2011 in Isiolo County. The court papers show that he used fraudulent documents to falsely claim Kenyan citizenship and commit the said illegalities. The magistrate has directed that all the parties appear before him on April 1 for a hearing and further direction
