The Luhya leaders in Kenya Kwanza must take responsibility for development in Western Kenya instead of blaming ODM and the Luo community. Those who signed the 30% agreement must now deliver on it. Real change will only come through unity, accountability, and action within Kenya Kwanza, not finger-pointing.

The narrative surrounding the Luhyas in Kenya Kwanza and their frustrations with the ODM and Luos regarding national government developments in the Western region demands a closer examination. It’s essential to question why, despite being part of the government, some leaders are quick to point fingers at ODM for perceived shortcomings in development.

When those who signed for the 30% allocation entered into that agreement, where was ODM? The responsibility for driving progress in our region lies heavily on those within Kenya Kwanza who have a direct mandate to advocate for and implement these commitments. Instead of shifting blame onto other parties, it’s time for Luhyas in Kenya Kwanza to hold themselves accountable and push forward with actionable plans that benefit their constituents.

Let’s focus on what can be achieved rather than dwelling on external factors. If Luhyas truly want to see tangible change and development, they must unite within their ranks and demand accountability from their leaders rather than deflecting responsibility onto others. The power to drive progress is already within reach; it just requires focused effort and collaboration among those elected to serve our communities.
